Title : Connective Tissue Graft with Coronally Advanced Flap Versus Concentrated Growth Factors Membrane in Treatment of Localized Periodontal recession. Split Mouth Comparative Clinical

Abstract :

This randomized split-mouth clinical experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of concentrated growth factors membrane(CGF) versus sub-epithelial connective tissue graft SCTG for improving root coverage of localized periodontal recession. A total of twenty sites of a localized bilateral labial periodontal recession that limited to maxillary and mandibular incisors, canine, and premolars areas selected from 10 systemically healthy patients of both sexes, their ages ranged from 20-45 years old were enrolled in the study after fulfilling the inclusion criteria. The patients were randomly divided into two groups. Group I: 10 sites were treated with SCTG. Group II: 10 sites were treated with CGF membrane. Plaque index (PI), gingival index (GI), clinical attachment level (CAL), recession height (RH), recession width (RW), digital measurements of the area of recession (RA), and height of the keratinized tissue (HKT) were recorded at baseline and 1, 3, 6 and 12 months, except for PPD & CAL which were assessed at 6 and 12 months post-surgically. Gingival thickness (GT) was recorded at baseline and after 12 months post-surgically. Percentage of root coverage (RC) was recorded at 1, 3, 6, 12 months. Both groups resulted in significant improvement in all studied parameters at all the study evaluation periods as compared to their baseline value p<0.001. There were no statistically significant differences between the two studied groups for all the studied parameters (p<0.05) except for PI at 1 month in favor of group I, RA at 6 months in favor of group II, and root coverage at 1 month in favor to group II p<0.05. There were non-significant differences between the two groups in terms of pain during surgery, improvement of root sensitivity, and the satisfaction after surgery p>0.05 with a significant difference in terms of pain scores in favor of group II where group II complained the least pain p<0.05. Within the limitation of this study, CGF membrane is comparable to SCTG in management of Miller's class II periodontal recessions with no discomfort and pain as in SCTG that shows potential clinical difficulties associated with the donor site surgery.

Title : Impact of an Educational Program on Nurses' Practices about Blood Exchange Transfusion Procedure in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Al – Ramadi Teaching Hospital for Maternity and Children

Abstract :

The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the educational program on nurses' practices about blood exchange transfusion procedure in neonatal seriously care unit in al-Ramadi teaching hospital for maternity and children. To determine effectiveness of an education program on nurses' practices about blood exchange transfusion procedure in neonatal seriously care unit(NICU) in Al- Ramadi Teaching Hospital for Maternity and Children. To recognize the relationship between nurses' Practices and their demographic characteristics such as age, gender, education, employment, training. A quasi-experimental design was conducted to evaluate the impact of the educational program on nurses' practices about blood exchange transfusion procedure . The study is carried out from January 10th 2021 to Juley 25 th 2021. A purposive test of (60) medical attendants who work in ( NICU) the information were collected through a built survey, with two parts, the primary portion is concerned with medical attendants demographical characteristics , the moment portion is concerned with nurses' hones about blood exchange transfusion procedure in neonatal intensive care unit . The participants were divided into two groups (the study group or the control group), where the first group received the educational program. An meet strategy was utilized to full the survey arrange. The legitimacy was decided through a board of specialists. Whereas the unwavering quality was decided through a pilot consider. The findings of the study showed that nurses have poor practices (43.80 %) after application of an educational program nurses' practices become good level (62.40 %) . The information were analyzed by employing a clear and inferential measurable degree by utilizing (SPSS) version (24) . The consider suggests that proceeds instruction programs is vital to move forward nurses' hones about blood exchange transfusion procedure in neonatal intensive care unit in al- Ramadi teaching hospital for maternity and children providing scientific booklet , publication and journal about blood exchange transfusion procedure.

Title : Enhancing the antibacterial activity of Thymus kotschyanus essential oil with Pseudomonas fluorescens as bioinoculant against some pathogenic bacteria

Abstract :

Inoculation of medicinal plants by Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) improves plant characteristics, essential oils (EOs), and secondary antimicrobial metabolites. To evaluate the antimicrobial activities of Thymus kotschyanus (T. kotschyanus) treated with rhizobacteria Pseudomonas fluorescence (P.flourescence). The characteristics, including fresh and dry root mass and height of T. kotschyanus, were assessed with or without P.flourescence strain Pf169 treatment. GC-mass GC/MS were used to analyze the antimicrobial metabolites of T. kotschyanus's EOs with and without Pf169 treatment. Antibacterial effects of Pf169-treated T. kotschyanus were evaluated by agar diffusion method against tree multidrug resistance (MDR) Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus. The results showed an improvement in T. kotschyanus after Pf169 inoculation. Furthermore, Pf169 inoculation has led to increased levels of monoterpenes. Antimicrobial compounds in T. kotschyanus's EOs were active against three pathogens. P. fluorescence modulated T. kotschyanus's EOs and its secondary metabolites can be used as an option against MDR bacteria alone or combined with common antibacterial agents.

Title : Adherence To Nutritional Management In Hemodialysis Patients : A Qualitative Study

Abstract :

The nutritional adherence rate of CKD-HD patients are still low. This low adherence rate increases readmission rates, morbidity and mortality of CKD-HD patients. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence dietary non-adherence in CKD-HD patients qualitatively to obtain more comprehensive and rational information so that it can be a reference for determining the next solution steps. A qualitative study with indepth semi-structured interviews was conducted on 14 participants consisting of patients, families, the medical team of the HD unit. Participants were recruited by purposive sampling. Audio recordings were transcribed verbatim and analyzed by thematic analysis. Three main themes and nine categories of causes of nutritional non-adherence were found. Theme 1 is individual factors was formed from 3 categories low level of nutritional knowledge, low socio-economic and clinical condition perception of the patient. Theme 2 is the influence of social factors was formed from 3 categories the need for support from spouse/ family, the need for support from friends and the need for support from the community and the surrounding community. Theme 3 is the support factor from the medical team with regular evaluations, active involvement of the nutrition team and medical nutrition training. This study found that the causes of nutritional non-adherence in CKD-HD patients were low levels of nutritional knowledge, low socioeconomic status, lack of family and community support, lack of regular nutrition education and evaluation and the absence of a structured monitoring system to improve patient adherence with management. CKD-HD nutrition.

Title : Assessment of the levels of melatonin, interleukin alpha -1and adiponectin among young people who stay up late at night on social media

Abstract :

The aim of current study was estimate levels of melatonin, adiponectin and interleukin alpha-1 among young people who stay up late at night on social media. The result of study demonstrated that the melatonin levels after staying according to gender and age showed significant (P<0.05) reduce compared with before staying up. On the other hand, the results of current study showed non-significant (P<0.05) changes in levels of adiponectin in male (before and after staying up). While in female, adiponectin levels after staying up demonstrated significant (P<0.05) elevated compared with before staying up, while according to the age, adiponectin levels after staying up demonstrated non-significant (P<0.05) changes compared with before staying up in both groups. findly, the current findings showed that there were non-significant (P<0.05) changes in interleukin-1 α levels according to age and gender after estimate in both states (before and after staying up). It is concluded that the staying up has been direct effects on studied parameters and female were more affected than male.
