Title : SURGICAL EPIDEMOLOGY OF SPINAL MEDULLA TUMORS AT DR KARIADI Hospital

Abstract :

Primary spinal cord tumors are rare central nervous system tumors that can develop at any age and have different management strategies based on histopathology. In Indonesia, there is paucity of literature describing the surgical treatment of patients presenting primary spinal cord tumor. There are currently no reports that focus on the epidemiology of primary TMS in Indonesia. The aim of this retrospective descriptive study is to review the incidence of primary TMS in Dr. Kariadi Semarang and described the relative frequency of each tumor classified by gender, age, type of histological picture, anatomical position and location based on vertebral height According to the statistics, the mean age of patients was 42.9 ± 15.3 years, and the gender distribution was identical. Pathology in the form of histological schwannoma was classified as the most common type of pathology (27.6%) followed by meningiomas (18.4%), metastases (9.2%), and ependymoma (9.2%). The majority of sites were intradural extramedullary (46.1%) at the level of the thoracic vertebrae (46.1%).

Title : An Approach to Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder in Women from Voluntary Surgical Contraception. Valledupar, Colombia.

Abstract :

Sexuality is one of the most central aspects in the quality of life of women. In addition, the lack of sexual desire depends on different factors that could cause discomfort or difficulties in interpersonal relationships. To determine the incidence of hypoactive sexual desire disorder in women aged 28 to 40 years from voluntary surgical contraception in the city of Valledupar. Descriptive cross-sectional study. The study population consisted of women between 28 and 40 years of age who have undergone voluntary surgical contraception and who reside in the city of Valledupar. 288 instruments with a 95% confidence level and 5% error level were applied to women living in Valledupar who have voluntarily undergone surgical contraception. The Female Sexual Function Index -FSFIe instrument was applied. 54% of women have sex occasionally, which indicates that there is dissatisfaction regarding sexuality, the second group of women represented by 26% report having sex 1 to 2 times a week, followed by 16% of 2 to 4 relationships per week and, finally, the lowest proportion of 4% who have sex daily. Women from an AQV suffer or suffer from some type of disorder related to sexual dysfunction, sexual desire, frequency of orgasms and frequency of sexual intercourse, which is associated with their occupations and their status as employees.

Title : Immunohistochemical and molecular evaluation of IDH in glioblastomas as prognostic marker in moroccan population

Abstract :

Glioblastomas are the most aggressive primary brain tumors with a median survival of 15 months. This study aims to determine the IDH status by immunohistochemistry or sanger sequencing and their prognostic value. We included confirmed glioblastomas. Ninety-three tissue samples were obtained by neurosurgical intervention. Demographic data, Karnofsky status, clinicopathological factors and the status of IDH1 were reported. The majority of the patients were males (61.3%) with a sex ratio of 1.58. The mean age of patients with glioblastoma at diagnosis was 49.76 years ranged from 6 to 81 years. The expression of IDH was detected in 11 samples (11.8%). There was a highly statistical significant correlations between the mutation status of IDH1 gene and age (𝑝 = 0.003) and between the mutation status of IDH1 and cell density (𝑝 = 0.003). IDH1 R132H immunostaining was detected in patients presenting the R132H mutation which was confirmed by PCR. IHC is an adequate technique to identify IDH mutations in glioblastoma and improve their treatment.

Title : Role of Vitamin D Supplementation for Symptoms and Lung Function Improvement in Long COVID Patient

Abstract :

Post-Acute COVID-19 Syndrome (PACS) or acute post-COVID-19 syndrome or also known as "Long Covid", is a collection of persistent symptoms and long-term complications more than four weeks after the onset of initial symptoms. One of the leading causes of these long-term complications is pulmonary fibrosis, with an incidence of almost 25% in patients a year after hospitalization. Vitamin D is an important substance to our body homeostasis and regulation. Vitamin D has pleiotropic effect as pulmonary antifibrosis. This research aims to directly provide vitamin D3 supplements, especially in improving lung function in pulmonary fibrosis patients after COVID-19 infection. This study was a one-group, quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design conducted at Labuang Baji hospitals in the eastern part of Indonesia. The population of this study was patients post-covid-19 infection with negative PCR results at least three months, had persistent symptoms of covid 19, and a CT scan confirmed pulmonary fibrosis or destroyed lung results. Lung function was measured using spirometry before and after the intervention (Vitamin D3 5000 IU supplementation with a frequency of once per day for two months). This study included 20 cases of Lung Fibrosis post-Covid-19. The majority of respondents were women and between the ages of 40 and 49. Among 20 patients, most of them fatigue or dyspneu or shortness of breath as their main symptoms. After 2-months supplementation of Vitamin D 5000 IU, number of patients who had shortness of breath and fatigue reduced significantly (From 11 to 3 and from 11 to 2 patients, respectively). 85% of our patient had deficient-insufficient status of vitamin D. We found restrictive pattern as a dominant lung function in our patient. There was significant improvement in lung function status after 2-months vitamin D supplementation (p=0.02). Vitamin D supplementation for Long COVID may have benefit for symptoms and lung function improvement.
